Essay “A victory for one is a victory for all”

One of the most important events in my country is the Victory Day. It’s celebrated on the 9th of May. 70 years have passed since the day of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war. Many people have lost their loved ones and families during this awful war. I have quite different feelings about this event. On the one hand, I feel proud of my Motherland and the other countries. But in the other hand, I feel sorry for soldiers and armies, who sacrificed their lives in order to protect the country and all the people. We must remember everybody and everything. My great-grandmother was involved in this terrible war too. We still have her medals and orders.
We are very lucky to live in peace, to have a lot of opportunities in life. We know about the war from the history books. And for millions of people, these terrible events were real. The war has broughta lot of grief. The war has claimedmany lives. It’s a pain, sorrow, suffering, tears and hatred. It isa tragedyof millions of people.
Soldiers were starving and a lot of them didn't return from the attack and died in hospital from combat wounds.Of course,we don’t knowthe featof eachof them, but is itso important? We don’t know the name of each victim, each soldier, but we think about each with warmth in our hearts.
Every person whohas a goodsoulwouldn’t beindifferentto thisgreat day- Victory Day. In our lifewe have a lot of holidays, which arebright, cheerful, exciting, but none of themcan compare to theVictory Dayin the GreatPatriotic War.
2015 year is special for all of us. This is the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. There are very few people who saw the military events, and every year we express our gratitude to them.
I look out the window and see the beautiful nature, children playing in the playground. And I understand that all of this couldn't be, if our ancestors hadn't won in the Great Patriotic War. Today we can enjoy life without fear.
Therefore, we mustrespect thefearlesswarriors, our defenders, women, mothers, whoworked out in fullforce for thevictories thatgave usthe future.Glory to the heroesshouldn’tfadein our memories andin our hearts. We mustalwaysremember the peoplewho gaveus life, peace and hope!

They are less and less. Everyyear and every day. Those who did not spare their strength and life, who won for the sake of our future, those who so modestly says that they just participated. They can still remember and tell, and we can hear and see, record the most important, small at first glance, trivial stuff, episodes ofthe Great Patriotic War.

June 22, 1941, with the dawn came the first cries of the enemy and fires that claimed the lives of many unsuspecting people. On this day, our people had no strategy, they just went to the bullets, threw themselves on the mines to protect family and home. The enemy was stronger and has numerous advantages. But he had no idea how strong the Soviet people and the sacrifices they are capable of.

The first year was painful, we suffered heavy losses, but as soon as the Soviet troops got stronger and gathered strength, they gave a huge fight back, to show all that they can, achieving a radical change in the course of the war. No one stood to one side, each person approached the victory: someone went to the front, some stayed in villages and towns, worked in the rear with his last strength, and someone raised the morale of the soldiers in simple, reminding them of their duty to the motherland. In these difficult years nothing could better raise the fighting spirit as the music and literature. A lot of writers, poets, singers, artists have done their best work under the sound of shots.

70 years ago ended  the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the biggest battles of the Second World War, from which the Red Army began its journey to the West. It started with them, members of the great battle, the beginning of our safe and peaceful future. The least we can do for them is to perpetuate their feat in the history and tell it to our children, to make  them know, who to thank for their happy life.I have no doubt that our people and now is able to repeat the feat of unity, brotherhood and accomplishment, which became the main meaning of the Great Patriotic War, which ended 70 years ago.

«The Victory Day is the greatest holiday. Our grandfathers and fathers did so that we live under the peaceful sky today, build Kazakhstan, rejoice, look into the future with confidence. It’s all they have created. They have passed through this and we are proud of them»
    N.A.Nazarbayev
«A victory for one is a victory for all»

70 years have past since the Victory of the Great Patriotic War. Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten. How can you forget this? Our people suffered, many people died and many tears were shed. We should be grateful to those who gave their lives for the Victory.

On 1 January 1941 the population of the republic totaled 6425 thousand.

1,200,000 men and women were mobilized into the armed forces, about 700 thousand worked in the armaments industry. As a result, every fourth resident of the Republic went to the front or to the defense industry.

499 Kazakh реорle were awarded the title "Hero of the Soviet Union.’’

Among  them: Talgat Begeldinov, Manshuk Mametova, Bauyrzhan Mamyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova, Nurken Abdirov , Kasym Kaysenov , Sagadat Nurmaganbetov and many others.

I think if our people hadn’t fought to the last drop of blood, it would have been a different world today. The Great Patriotic War is a huge emotional wound in human hearts. This terrible tragedy started in 22d June, 1941 and ended four difficult years later in 9th May, 1945. The long awaited Victory came to this long suffering land together with the bright spring. Tears of joy greeted the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War and we, their descendants, also celebrate this day. It is scary to imagine what they had to go through. We, the children of the 21st century, will have tears of joy in our eyes celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. There was not a family who would haven’t suffered a loss. Everybody devoted all their strength for the Victory and it means that today our people is a more close-knit team willing to help each other when it is necessary. While men were fighting in the War, women endured harsh conditions in factories often dying from exhaustion, hunger and cold. Children went on to the roofs to clear all incendiary devices. Leningrad was under the terrible siege, so no food was getting through. So this Victory is a credit to everybody. Despite the numerical superiority of the enemy, Nazi troops’ unexpected attacks, the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was provided. This brought an end to all suffering and torment for our people. The Victory Day is a celebration that will not fade but still will be an important date in our hearts. Approaching the great and sacred holiday, the 70th anniversary of the Victory, the memory of all those who gave their lives to defeat the enemy is the most important thing for me and my classmates.

Nowadays there are a few people who saw the military actions with their own eyes, and every year we express our gratitude to them because of their bravery and determination for the Victory.

Today Kazakhstan is the country of free people. Kazakhstan is the country where many nations live in peace. Books are written about the Great Victory, films are directed and songs are composed. The state has awarded the War’s veterans the highest honours and erected monuments. Our main aims and goals are to support independence, prosperity, safety and improvement well-being of our people.

We salute our brave soldiers and thank them for our prosperous life. No one will forget the War of 1941-1945. I’m proud of this great event’s memory!

Soviet Childern – Heroes of the War.

                                   By Elena Chyornaya

The Great Patriotic War was won on the 9th of May. This day is a remarkable and memorable day in USSR history. I think most of people know it. The War took away fathers, sons, husbands from their families. But, you know, they did not have much choice. A lot of children helped to win The War. They ran away from their homes to the front. Many of them were brought back to their mothers. Many of them were decorated by the Soviet Government with orders. For example: Vanya Andrianov, Valya Zenkina, Borya Kuleshin. In my opinion, the bravest child was Vanya Andrianov. He was 14 years old and he lived in the village of Novo-Mikhailovka.

Early in the morning people who were living in the village heard artillery fire. Vanya watched the fascist soldiers from the window of his house. He saw that the fascist soldiers put their machine-guns in some houses. The next day in the morning the artillery fire stopped and Vanya was very afraid that the Soviet Army would not come soon. He was looking out of the window when he saw that some men appeared at a distance. They were coming up very quickly on skis. It was the Soviet Army.

Vanya guessed that the German Army wanted to meet the Soviet Army with machine-gun fire and kill them. He put on his clothes and ran towards the river near his house. Vanya tried to warn the Soviet Army but no one could hear his voice. Suddenly, the fascist saw him run and opened fire at him. But Vanya did not turn back because, I am sure, he was thinking about his family. He fell onto the ground but he was not dead. Vanya crawled across the snow untill he saw the Soviet soldiers. He told them that he had seen a lot of enemy soldiers. Then the captain of the Soviet Army was told about the enemy machine-guns. Thanks to Vanya all German soldiers in the village were killed.

Vanya was awarded with the Order of the Red Star for bravery. He said that he was not afraid because he did not have much time to be scared of death. I respect him because of his bravery.

Yes, a lot of children took part in The Great Patriotic War and I am really proud of them. The 9th of May is the most favourite holiday in my family.
